PAIRING VITAMIN B12 WITH SEMAGLUTIDE

Semaglutide therapy may affect nutrient absorption in the gastrointestinal tract. Specifically, these medications may slow down gastric emptying and reduce the absorption of certain nutrients, including vitamin B12. Midwest Alternative Treatment Clinic utilizes a formulation fortified with B12 to ensure adequate availability of this essential nutrient.

Wegovy vs. Ozempic vs Semaglutide: Are they the same drug?

Wegovy and Ozempic are not the same drug, but they both belong to a class of medications called glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 agonists).

The generic name of Wegovy is semaglutide. It was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in June 2021 for chronic weight management in adults with obesity or overweight individuals who have at least one weight-related condition.

It is also a GLP-1 agonist, but it is used at a lower dose than Wegovy. Ozempic is administered as a once-weekly injection to help lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. However, it can also result in weight loss as a side effect.

However, individual results may vary, and it is important to discuss weight loss expectations with your healthcare provider.

Can semaglutide be used by anyone for weight loss?
